» This species breeds in many of the islands of the Canaries, mainly in the central-western ones (Gran Canaria, Tenerife, La Gomera, La Palma and El Hierro). Its numbers are very variable depending on the year, but colonies are small. In the past there were big breeding colonies in Fuerteventura and Gran Canaria. In the last years breeding on La Gomera and El Hierro is doubtful.
