Remarks

» The male shown in the two images belongs to the subspecies T. torquatus torquatus. There is a regular wintering population of this species in Teide National Park. The age and subspecific identity of the bird was confirmed by Stefan Cherrug, Swedish ornithologist and expert in bird identification.
