Remarks
» Subspecies Lanius excubitor koenigi is endemic to the Canary Islands. It is present in the high mountain vegetation area of Teide National Park and the lower and middle zones of the southern part of Tenerife, and also in other islands and islets (Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura, Lobos, Lanzarote, La Graciosa, and Alegranza). It is locally common, and especially abundant in the eastern islands of the archipelago.
