» There were two males in the same area belonging to the subspecies O. deserti homochroa. The arrival of these and many other birds was linked to a storm with strong winds from the East and dense dust from Sahara desert. Desert Wheatear is a vagrant to the Canary Islands, and usually the species arrives with episodes of sandy storms from nearby NW Africa.
