Remarks

» Bird of the subspecies Carduelis cannabina meadewaldoi, endemic from the central-western islands of the Canaries (Gran Canaria, Tenerife, La Gomera, La Palma and El Hierro), where it is becoming rare in recent years. In any case, it is still relatively common in some areas. Road kill may be (locally) an important threat for this species.
