» Eurasian Sparrowhawk (subspecies A. n. granti) is relatively common as a breeding bird in Tenerife and other central-western islands of the Canaries (Gran Canaria, La Gomera, La Palma and El Hierro). In the last decades its populations has grown, and now the species is breeding in many small woodlands and parks, not only in well-preserved forests.
