Remarks

» The chick was found on the floor, under a partially fallen nest, in a small avocado plantation (an atypical habitat for the species). This bird of prey has good populations in the Canary Islands, being present at Gran Canaria, Tenerife, La Gomera, La Palma and El Hierro (subspecies Accipiter nisus granti). Some migratory individuals visit also the eastern islands and islets (Fuerteventura, Lanzarote, Lobos).
