As Autumn approaches we will be part of a conference at the Natural History Museum aptly named Avian Odyssey on Saturday 21st September, coinciding with the exhibition at the NHM of Birds: Brilliant and Bizarre. The main Exhibition will be an exciting history of the evolution of birds from the age of the dinosaurs to the beautiful and fascinating diversity of our modern-day birds from around the world, curated by Douglas Russell from the NHM. The conference will be a series of talks by most of the UK’s Bird Conservation Charities. The ABC speaker will be Dr Hazell Shokellu Thompson who many of you will know from his time spearheading the work of BirdLife International as well as his excellent research work on the White-necked Picathartes in Sierra Leone which we will speak on in September. You can book free tickets for the main exhibition in advance from the NHM website. We encourage you to book free tickets for the conference itself online as soon as you can as seating numbers are limited to just over 200 on a first come first served basis.
