Remarks
» This bird was discovered by Beneharo Rodríguez and myself, being the third record for the Canary Islands. Identification was confirmed by two wader experts, Tony Prater and Guillermo Rodríguez. The images show the main features of the species well: narrow yellow eye ring; yellow legs; webbed front toes; short bill. Its size was clearly less than Common Ringed Plover and even Little Ringed Plover, and we heard its diagnostic voice in flight on several occasions. It was observed by many local and foreign birders.
