» According to the distribution range maps, the Common Moorhen is absent southern from Chad and Cameroon (to the exception of Sao Tome and Principe), and, according to the literature, there is no confirmed record in Gabon. However, a family group (at least one adult and two juveniles) has been found in a district of Libreville in February 2021, with photos taken on 16 and 20 February 2021. Subsequently, an adult was sighted at La Lower river, Libreville, on 21 February (date of this photo)
