ABC is partnering with the Birdsong Project on an album of music including tracks by artists inspired by the songs of threatened birds of western Africa. We have helped select the bird species whose songs will feature on the album and also helped identify conservation projects that will benefit from the profits.

This talk will include an update on the safeguarding and management of land in the Taita Hills and Dakatcha Woodland IBAs, undertaken with grant support from African Bird Club, working alongside the World Land Trust and the RSPB.

The talk will take place on Wednesday 1 September 2021 starting at 3pm GMT (which is 4pm British Summertime, 5pm Central African/European time and 6pm EAT). Please check your local time.

Birdfair regret to announce that due to the continuation of COVID restrictions deeply impacting UK and international travel, public health and the safety of their visitors and exhibitors, they have decided not to host the British Birdwatching Fair at Rutland Water Nature Reserve this year.

Birdfair are now putting their energies into exploring the possibilities for 2022. They will make a more detailed announcement in May 2021.

The 5th biennial Learn About Birds (LAB) Conference, which was due to be held in Wilderness on 27 and 28 May 2021, will be moving to a virtual platform owing to the current global pandemic and venue limitations under the current National State of Disaster. This event is co-hosted by BirdLife South Africa and the FitzPatrick Institute of African Ornithology, University of Cape Town.
