2nd African Bioacoustics Community Conference

Register TODAY for the African Bioacoustics Community Conference. Dates : 2 - 5 November 2020

We have an incredible line up of over 80 presentations, including 8 plenaries from experts in the field of bioacoustics. Talks focus on a wide variety of species, covering a varied range of avian bioacoustics- from the physiology of marine bird hearing to song in both passerines and non-passerines- with numerous renowned researchers within the field presenting including, Magnus Walhberg and Alexander Kirschel.

And two special sessions:
1) The Basics of Bioacoustics, focusing on basic knowledge of the field of bioacoustics (aimed at students wanting to learn more)
2) Hearing of Harms, focusing on the acoustics detection of illegal activity for conservation and the protection of biodiversity.

We are also excited to be partnering up with the Conservation Symposium Conservation and Bioacoustics converge in a full-day session of talks that integrate the field of bioacoustics with conservation practices

In addition, we will be hosting a Movie Event throughout the duration of the conference to highlight bioacoustics to both registered and non-registered participants. We are inviting submissions from filmmakers, scientists, students, and the public to contribute video footage of bioacoustics in nature! Submit your videos to [email protected] by the 26th of October to be featured.

BONUS: All content presented at the ABC 2020 Conference will be available to registered participants for one month after the conference! This includes all plenaries, standard talks, speed talks, posters, special session presentations and ALL video footage included in the Movie Event! So if you don't have time to watch during the conference, we've got you covered!
