Details and rules of ID Challenge

Format and frequency: There will be four ID Challenges per year each with first and second prizes. Each ID Challenge will comprise photographs of three birds. By submitting an entry to the ID Challenge, entrants automatically agree for their answers to be published on the website, although entrants can specify that they wish to remain anonymous.

Who may enter: Entry is free of charge and is open to all persons – not only members of the African Bird Club - except for ABC council members, employees of Birding Africa and employees of Corporate Sponsors of ABC.

Entries: The Challenge will remain open for approximately 3 months from the launch date. Any person may enter an ID Challenge once only. Entries can be submitted by completing the web-based competition form or by transcribing the entry form into email format and sending it to idchallenge@birdingafrica.com.

Winners: Each entrant will be awarded a score based on the number of questions answered correctly. The highest point scorer will be the winner. Where there is a tie, winners will be decided by pulling names out of a hat.

ABC and Birding Africa will decide winners. Their decision is final and no entrant or their representative may enter into dialogue with ABC or Birding Africa.

Prizes: ID Challenge prizes will include a 50% discount on a Cape Town Pelagics trip, or Southern African Birdfinder by Callan Cohen, Claire Spottiswoode and Jonathan Rossouw; African Bird Club membership. These prizes must be taken up within 18 months of the announcement of the winners.
