Endemic subspecies
The following four subspecies were recognised as full species previously.
Neumann's Coucal Centropus leucogaster neumanni now considered a subspecies of Black-throated Coucal C. leucogaster. Central DRC.
Kabobo Apalis Apalis porphyrolaema kaboboensis now considered a subspecies of Chestnut-throated Apalis A. porphyrolaema. Eastern DRC.
Chapin's Crombec Sylvietta leucophrys chapini now considered a subspecies of White-browed Crombec S. leucophrys. North-east DRC.
Itombwe Flycatcher Muscicapa lendu itombwensis now considered a subspecies of Chapin's Flycatcher M. lendu. Eastern DRC.
